Making The Best Of “Me Time”

After you have successfully gone through the drastic changes during the first trimester, your body will gradually adapt as you move into the second trimester. These changes will affect you physically and emotionally. Which makes the perfect time to experience more "Me Time"! You can return to your daily routines like hanging out with your friends or even treat yourself to a nice spa day!

Hanging out
According to Dr. Thomas Verny in his book published by the Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health (APPPAH), your emotional and biological connection with your child is at its peak while you are pregnant. Whatever you think and feel will affect the child. Therefore, hanging out with your friends and enjoying your activities will help relieve yourself of stress and lift your spirit up. However, do not exert yourself if you feel comfortable.

While your child is growing in your tummy, your child needs nutritious food. Prof. Dr. H. Ponpon S. Idjradinata, SpA(K) from the School of Medicine of the Universitas Padjadjaran explained that the nutritional intake of a child is directly proportionally to the child's intelligence. Therefore, it is important for you to consume supplementary food that will keep you and your child healthy.
